Our Story
For more than 40 years, Gray Summit Christian Preschool has been a place where children are loved, families are supported, and faith is at the heart of learning.
Our story began in the fall of 1983, when First Baptist Church of Gray Summit opened a preschool as part of its ministry to children and families in our community. That same year, the church constructed the building that would become home not only to the preschool, but also to Gray Summit Christian School. The Christian school served students in this building until 1995, while the preschool continued its ministry—one that is still going strong today.
From the beginning, our purpose has been to help each child reach their God-given potential spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. For generations, GSCP has combined Christian principles with early childhood education and kindergarten preparation, helping children build both the academic and social foundations they need for the next chapter of their lives.
Honoring Our Past. Building Our Future.
More than four decades later, our mission continues.
Today, we are proud to build upon the foundation laid by the pastors, directors, teachers, church members, parents, and families who came before us. While classrooms, curriculum, technology, and the needs of families have changed since 1983, the heart behind GSCP has not.
We believe children deserve a place where they are known, loved, challenged, encouraged, and reminded that they are uniquely created by God.
As we enter a new chapter for GSCP, we are investing in our classrooms, strengthening our curriculum, supporting our teachers, improving communication with families, expanding opportunities for our children, and creating systems that will allow this ministry to continue serving our community for generations to come.
We are incredibly proud of where we came from and even more excited about where we're going.
Since 1983, generations of little Lions have grown up within these walls. Now, we have the privilege of preparing the next generation to learn, grow, serve, and Roar for Jesus.
